PROGRAM BENEFITS

As the renewable energy industry rapidly grows, there is a greater need for professionals who have a solid understanding of the business side of renewable energy and who can effectively manage organizations and position them for continued success. The Executive MBA with a specialization in Renewables provides the business foundation for those aspiring to lead within this growth industry. The program is offered over a rigorous 15-month period. Courses are offered primarily online to ensure that busy professionals can complete the program while working full time. With three weeklong residencies, students gain a strong network with other renewable energy professionals.

Flexible Delivery

This program is offered in a hybrid model with most of the courses delivered in an interactive, online format. Students study when and where they want. The expedited program length allows students to start applying information to their careers quickly and expertly.

Incredible Growth Potential

OU’s legacy in energy education extends over 100 years, making it uniquely qualified to provide an EMBA in Energy program with a specialization tailored to the rapidly burgeoning renewable energy industry. Generating more electricity from wind than nearly any other state, Oklahoma is known as a leader in renewable energy—an industry gaining importance not just regionally, but also globally.

Thought Leaders on Faculty

Each faculty member was selected due to their experience and expertise in the energy industry. This group challenges, collaborates, and facilitates the learning process with students individually and with classmates. Guest speakers and leaders from the energy industry complement the experience.

Residency Weeks

Three weeklong residencies offer face-to-face classroom experiences and provide a foundation for a connection with cohorts that will last a lifetime. Two of the residencies are in Norman with a third offered at an international location to address the global nature of the program.

Business Connections for Life

Renewable energy companies have significant needs for qualified professionals, and the industry is the fastest growing energy sector in the world. This program was designed to help students build their network in existing energy companies and make valuable connections with like-minded professionals.

Executive Coaching

As the EMBA in Energy program is geared for midcareer professionals, an executive coach is provided for each student as a part of the experience. The coach provides group and one-on-one consulting for each student to help them achieve their goals inside and outside the classroom.
