2010 summer study abroad scholarships

If you have already submitted your application for the program and for scholarships you will be notified by the program coordinator if new scholarships become available. All scholarship applications are due by January 20th, 2010. The scholarships available through the PCB will be awarded in March. Please submit all forms (including your application for PITF if you decide to apply for this fellowship) to the International Program Coordinator (Adams Hall 218, or mailbox Adams Hall 207). |
To apply for scholarships, please submit:
1) Completed scholarship form (Download file here). Please note that the PITF (President's International Travel Fellowship) requires an additional form (Download file here).
2) Resume, or list of academic honors received, campus and community activities in which you are (were) involved.
3) A 1-2 page essay addressing the following issues:
a. Describe your specific academic reason for deciding to study abroad.
b. Describe your financial need for a study abroad scholarship.
c. Describe your academic achievements and merits.
The following scholarships are available to students interested in the 2010 Price College of Business Summer Study Abroad Programs.
PITF - President's International Travel Fellowship ($500 to $1000)
Created by President David L. Boren, this fund provides money specifically to fund the travel portions of OU students' experiences abroad. Decisions will be based partially on need and on academic standing. Applications can be found here; the deadline for the application is March 13, 2010. Please bring these applications to the Study Abroad Office in Adams Hall 218 (or leave them for me in Adams Hall 207).
The William J. Alley-Rayonier International Business Scholarship ($500 to $1000)
The Rayonier Foundation provides grants for educational, health, community and other charitable purposes on behalf of Rayonier and its employees. The company has 1.5 million acres of timber in the U.S. and New Zealand. About 60 percent of Rayonier's sales are to international customers in 70 countries. The Michael F. Price College of Business is deeply appreciative of the support of the Rayonier Corporation to establish the William J. Alley-Rayonier International Business Scholars Program in memory of Mr. William J. Alley, who, at the time of his death was a member of the Board of Directors of Rayonier Inc. The deadline for the application is January 20th, 2010.
Stanley White Scholarship ($500 to $1000)
This is a need based scholarship available to entrepreneurship students who intend to apply to the Arezzo program. The deadline for the application is January 20th, 2010.
Energy Management Scholarship ($500 to $1000)
This is scholarship available to energy management students who intend to apply to the Aberdeen program. The deadline for the application is January 20th, 2010.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship

The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers a competition for awards for undergraduate study abroad. This scholarship provides awards for US undergraduate students at a 2-year or 4-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, this program requires both US citizenship as well as being a current recipient of a Federal Pell Grant. If you are eligible and interested in this program, please contact a Study Abroad Advisor in the Office of Education Abroad.
Phi Kappa Phi Grant ($1000)
Phi Kappa Phi Study Abroad Grants exist to recognize scholarly endeavors. They are designed specifically to recognize and assist undergraduates as they seek knowledge abroad. Fifty grants of $1,000 each are awarded annually. More information and the application are also available online at: http://www.phikappaphi.org/Web/Scholarships/studyabroad.html.
