Program Notes

  • Prior to taking the MIS courses beyond the introductory course (MIS 5602), students must demonstrate competency via two programming languages (please check with coordinator on appropriate languages). This competency may be demonstrated by taking appropriate OU or other college courses, by job experience, or by completing an approved course from a reputable provider. Such programming courses will not count toward the 33 hours required for the MS in MIS degree. However, students entering the program without the required programming background may fulfill the requirement by enrolling in two MIS electives with strong programming components – MIS 5682 Business Data Analysis and MIS 5782 Advanced Database Management.
  • “Admission to Candidacy” form must be submitted before enrollment in MIS 5792.
  • MIS 5792 must be completed with grade of A or B.
  • Students have up to 5 years to complete the MS-MIS degree.

Application Information
Applicants with a GMAT score more than 650 and an undergraduate GPA greater than 3.5 are preferred. The Admissions Committee will consider special circumstances.
