FROM WALL STREET TO MAIN STREET: THE FINANCIAL CRISIS AND ITS IMPACT ON OUR LOCAL ECONOMY

This Price College panel session examined the origins, extent and character, and possible future directions of the financial crisis now gripping Wall Street and spreading to Main Street. The session explored features of government rescue programs and their potential for alleviation of palpable financial stress. The focus was on the implications of the crisis for the economies of Oklahoma and the southwest region.


Panelists included Robert C. Dauffenbach, Associate Dean and Director, Center for Economic and Management Research; Robert Lipe, Professor of Accounting; Pradeep Yadav, Chair, Finance Division; and Bradley Krieger, Chairman of the Oklahoma Bankers Association and Arvest Bank, who served as moderator.
