AARONBECKER

 

Aaron Becker received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Oklahoma in 2000 and his MBA in 2004. He has worked as a Technical Consultant/Data Migration Specialist at Metasolv Software, Inc. in Denver, CO and as an Honors Intern with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Working as a software engineer for the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division in Clarksburg, WV, he developed a database system that currently aids FBI Special Agents and local authorities in the tracking and cataloguing of violent gangs and terrorist organizations.

 

Aaron's PhD research has focused on leadership in virtual teams, top management support of IT implementation projects, and technology appropriation in virtual teams. He has had papers on these topics accepted for presentation at the Academy of Management Conference, the Group Decision and Negotiation Conference, the Americas Conference on Information Systems, and the IS-CORE, DIGIT, and JAIS Theory Development Workshops (which are held in conjunction with the International Conference on Information Systems). He has also published a paper on emergent leadership in virtual teams in Group Decision and Negotiation. Currently, Aaron is developing a portfolio of research on collaborative technology appropriation in groups, trust building in virtual environments, and leadership dynamics in small groups.
