Application to the Traditional, Stand-Alone Master of Accountancy Program
The Masters program is open to qualified students with undergraduate degrees from accredited universities regardless of undergraduate major. An undergraduate degree in accounting or business is not necessary. Those without an undergraduate degree in accounting from an AACSB-accredited university will be required to fulfill a series of accounting prerequisites which may be met after admission into the program (see masters curriculum ).
Admission Standards
Admission decisions are based on a number of factors including undergraduate/graduate grade point average, Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) score, employment history, letters of recommendation, and a statement of the applicant's personal goals. Admission recommendations are made on a rolling basis once all application materials are received.
Students are generally not admittable with undergraduate GPAs of less than 3.0 or GMAT scores of less than 500. As a guideline, current students have an average undergraduate GPA or approximately 3.5 and an average, overall GMAT score of approximately 600. International students for whom English is a second language must also demonstrate proficiency in English. Proficiency is generally demonstrated by a TOEFEL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of 600 on the written-based test (or 250 on the computer-based test or 100 on the internet-based test) and a verbal subscore on the GMAT at or above the 40th percentile.
