Mission for the BBA - Accounting degree
Mission for the BBA degree with an accounting major is to educate students in the board concepts and principles governing accounting, auding and taxation. The program will provide students with sufficient depth in internal and external accounting as well as strong analytical skills to prepare them for entry-level accounting positions in industry and government. It will also provide a background that will serve as the basis for continued graduate study in professions where an accounting background is useful or necessary.
The BBA/Master of Accountancy program allows motivated current OU business undergraduates interested in professional accountancy to begin working on their Masters degree while still completing their undergraduate coursework. The accelerated, intergrated program consists of a total of 150 hours, including 33 at graduate level, leading to the awarding of both the BBA and Macc degrees.Graduates qualify to sit for the CPA exam in most states, including Oklahoma and Texas. Since the integrated program includes undergraduate requirements that are not otherwise part of the BBA plan of study, interested students should consult the B/MAcc degree plan no later then the first semester of the third year of their undergraduate program to ensure they are prepared. Application to the program should be made as soon as possible completing 75 hours toward the BBA degree.
