Regents Announce Historic Bequest
The University of Oklahoma announced the largest estate gift in its history on May 11, when the Board of Regents voted in favor of naming the School of Accounting in honor of John Steed of Ardmore, after the estate of his late son, David Steed, bequeathed donations totaling more than $9 million for scholarships and faculty positions.
Frances L. Ayres, director of the School of Accounting, joined the Regents in thanking the Steed family. These additional scholarships and positions will be a tremendous benefit, Ayres said.
