GINKA BORISOVA [Top]

Ginka Borisova obtained a BS degree in Finance from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria and an MBA from the University of Oklahoma. Subsequently, she joined the Finance PhD program at Oklahoma in the Fall of 2004.

Ginka’s research interests include privatization, capital structure, and market microstructure. She is the co-author of a paper published in Towards 2015: Millennium Development and Policy Imperative for South Africa and the SADC Region, a conference proceedings book. She was a presenter and a discussant at the Financial Management Association annual meeting in 2006, as well as a discussant at the South-West Finance Symposium in 2006. Her paper “Does Privatization Affect the Cost of Debt? Evidence from the European Union,” will be presented at the FMA meetings in 2007 where she has also been invited to participate in the Doctoral Student Consortium. Ginka has experience as a teaching and research assistant at the University of Oklahoma. She was nominated for the university wide outstanding graduate research assistant award in 2007. Resume

VELJKO FOTAK [Top]

Veljko Fotak earned a BS degree in Business Administration, an MBA with a concentration in Finance and an MS in Applied Statistics from the Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, NY. His previous experiences include fund management in the Swiss insurance industry and research and planning related to the valuation and financing of emerging technologies. Veljko’s research interest include market microstructure and market manipulation. His paper, “The Impact of Blog Recommendations on Security Prices and Trading Volumes,” will be presented at the 2007 meetings of the Financial Management Association.  His hobbies include playing music (mostly percussion instruments), swimming, reading and traveling. Veljko entered the OU Finance PhD program in Fall 2006. Resume

SRIDHAR GOGINENI [Top]

Sridhar completed his Bachelors degree in Management at Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, India and Master's degree in Financial Economics at Ohio University. Before joining the PhD program, Sridhar taught economics at the branch campuses of Ohio University and worked as a business consultant. His work experience also includes a brief stint at HSBC-India. He completed the Level I of the CFA in 2004. Sridhar joined the PhD program in the Fall of 2005 and his research interests include Derivatives, International Finance, and Investments. Resume

DONG HYUN KIM

Dong Hyun Kim completed a BS degree in Business Administration at Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea and a MS in Economics at Oklahoma State University. Dong Hyun once served as a company commander in Republic of Korea Air Force and managed over 100 soldiers. His work experience also includes performance evaluation in the planning & strategy department for Kookmin Credit Card Corporation in Korea. He holds the chartered computer license. His research interests are corporate governance, capital structure, and investment. Dong Hyun joined the finance PhD program in the summer of 2007.

DUONG LE [Top]

Duong Le received a BA in Economics from the University of International Economics in Hanoi, Vietnam and an MBA (with concentration in Finance) from the University of Oklahoma. She joined the Finance Ph.D. Program in the Fall of 2004. Her research interests are Risk Management, International Finance, and Investment. Before joining the PhD program, Duong worked as a teaching assistant in the National Economics University in Hanoi, Vietnam. Duong enjoys spending time with her little daughter, Annie, and traveling with her family.

ANTHONY MAY [Top]

Anthony May earned a BS in Engineering Technology and an MS in Finance and Economics from West Texas A&M in Canyon, TX. He previously worked as an engineering technician and research assistant for the United States Department of Agriculture in the field of renewable energy. His research interests include financial markets and corporate finance. Anthony enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and hiking, watching sports and movies, and reading. He joined the Finance PhD program in Fall 2006.

VIKAS RAMAN [Top]

Vikas obtained a BE degree in Industrial Engineering at Bangalore University, India and a Master’s degree in Finance at the Manchester Business School, UK. Vikas has worked at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, India as an Academic Associate. He has also worked as an Investment Researcher for a Deutsche Bank Hedge Fund. His research interests include market microstructure and option pricing. His hobbies include Cricket, Reading and Music (mostly Indian Classical). He joined the Finance PhD program in Fall 2006.

JESUS M. SALAS [Top]

Jesus Salas holds a BS degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas and an MA degree in Economics from Miami University of Ohio. His research interests include dividend policy, corporate governance, and corporate risk management. His research has been published in the Journal of Banking and Finance. He is also the author of a chapter in “Transforming Public Enterprises In Europe and The Americas: Networks, Integration and Transnationalisation“. He has presented papers at meetings of the American Finance Association, European Finance Association, Financial Management Association, the European meetings of the Financial Management Association, Southwest Finance Association, and others. One of his papers won the best PhD student paper award at the Southwest Finance Association conference. He was selected to be part of the 2007 doctoral consortiums in the European Finance Association and the Financial Management Association meetings.

Jesus also has extensive teaching experience. He was nominated for the University wide graduate student teaching award and received the College award for best PhD teacher. His teaching interests include corporate finance and investments. Jesus is a member of the Financial Management Association and the American Finance Association. Jesus joined the finance PhD program in August of 2003. Resume

NATALIE SUTTER [Top]

Natalie Sutter earned a BBA in Economics, a Bachelor of Accountancy, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. Her research interests include corporate governance, international finance, and financial markets. She has a publication in Corporate Governance: An International Review and co-authored a book chapter in Globalization and the Growth of International Stock Exchanges. Natalie has experience teaching at both the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas—Pan American.
